I am a dedicated and skilled mental health clinician with extensive experience providing therapy in both individual and group settings. My approach to counseling is experientially dynamic, compassionate, and emotion-focused. This approach is informed by experiential, psychodynamic, and neuroscientific modalities, including Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and neuro-counseling. But I am first and foremost responsive to specific patient needs and adjust modalities accordingly. My work is guided by a commitment to trauma-informed, identity-exploring and -affirming, and culturally responsive care.
I have worked with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, disordered eating, chronic pain, OCD, acute and complex trauma, dissociative symptoms, panic disorder, existential conflict, gender dysphoria, and substance dependency. I have also facilitated process and support groups and conducted professional trainings on gender exploration therapy. Alongside my work as a Mental Health Counselor, I have taught in University departments of Philosophy, Gender Studies, Political Science, and Cultural Studies for more than two decades.
Extensive clinical experience across multiple therapeutic modalities including EFT, AEDP, TF-CBT, IFS, EMDR, DBT, and PRT. I adapt my approach to meet your unique needs and circumstances.
PhD-level training and decades-long experience as an instructor in moral philosophy, gender studies, queer theory, and the arts, bringing academic depth to my therapeutic practice.
Committed to creating a warm, supportive environment where clients can process experiences, develop self-awareness, and cultivate meaningful personal growth.
My background as an educator has equipped me with unique capabilities in creating inclusive spaces for learning and growth, especially for gender diverse and neurodiverse clients.
